Hi, I’m Jennifer Wanzina, co-founder of Fidex Car Hire & Safaris Ltd. Since 2003, my family and I have been focused on providing exceptional Car hire and taxis services. However, there’s another part of our story I want to share.
My true passion lies in community engagement, especially with those living near the mangrove forests. Over the years, we’ve collaborated with our National and International associations to help restore these vital ecosystems. From 2020-2023, we planted 10,000 Mangrove Seedlings and empowered the communities by purchasing the seedlings from them and tasking them to maintain them until maturity. We also funded their bee keeping trainings, creating a new source of income through pure organic honey.
During this work, we also launched a book club to give young minds a chance to grow and dream bigger.
It was through these meaningful connections that the idea for our Community- Based Safaris was born. Now our guests can join us in making a real difference.
Newton Nyiro Kizaka is a community leader and conservationist in Taita Taveta County, Kenya. His family’s legacy of leadership in the Kasigau community dates back to 1914, a heritage that has shaped his commitment to service. A graduate of the Kenya Wildlife Service Training Institute, Newton holds certifications in ecotourism and tour guiding. For over two decades, he has been a professional guide, sharing his extensive knowledge of the region’s flora, fauna, and culture. Through his work and involvement in the *Kasigau Ecotourism Project*, Newton focuses on creating sustainable opportunities for his community while protecting the natural environment. His mission is to blend cultural preservation with responsible tourism, ensuring that both the people and nature of Kasigau thrive.
Juma a.k.a Jay, is a licensed and experienced marine guide specializing in the Shimoni area, including Wasini Island and Kisite Marine Park. With years of navigating these coastal waters, he ensures every trip is safe, smooth, and tailored for adventure.
