Haller Park is a renowned ecological sanctuary located in Bamburi, Mombasa, Kenya. Established in 1971 through the rehabilitation of a disused limestone quarry by Bamburi Cement, it has transformed into a thriving ecosystem and a popular destination for nature enthusiasts.

Explore Mombasa, Kenya’s oldest city and the beating heart of the East African coast. For over 1,000 years, this island city has been shaped by Arab traders, Portuguese explorers, British colonialists, and Swahili culture, creating a destination rich in stories, architecture, and soul.

Our first stop takes us to the iconic Fort Jesus, built by the Portuguese in 1593 to guard their trade routes along the Indian Ocean. As guests walk through its coral-stone walls, cannons, and battlements, they are transported into tales of conquest, resistance, and survival. Fort Jesus has changed hands more than nine times—each takeover leaving a mark on Mombasa’s identity.

A short walk leads us into the narrow, atmospheric streets of Mombasa Old Town, where time seems to slow down. Here, carved wooden doors, antique balconies, and faded facades tell stories of merchants, sailors, and scholars. Every door has a meaning—symbols carved into wood reveal family history, status, and beliefs.

We continue to the vibrant local markets where Mombasa’s senses truly come alive. The aroma of cloves, cardamom, and cinnamon fills the air as traders call out in Swahili. These markets once supplied spices that sailed as far as India, Arabia, and Europe. Guests gain deeper understanding of Swahili culture, traditions, and daily life—covering food, language, and coastal customs.

Our journey continues to one of Mombasa’s most respected artisan centers, Akamba Handicraft Cooperative. Guests witness master craftsmen hand-carving ebony and mahogany into intricate African Sculpture Every piece is carved by hand—no two sculptures are ever the same.

Guests are led through the organized chaos of Kongowea by an experienced guide who interprets the market’s rhythms, etiquette, and unwritten rules. Guests visit the stalls that sell:
